Meet the 2025-2026 Executive Board

Our board is made up of parent volunteers from our McGowen community. We work closely with the McGowen teachers and staff to make sure we are meeting the needs of the students, families and staff.

President - Pilar Schaefer

Coordinates the work of others, chairpersons and committees in order that the purpose of PTA may be promoted. Presides at general and board meetings. Represents McGowen PTA Board.

Responsible for annual and monthly budget. Also, files all taxes and insurance.

Serves as an aide to the President.

Oversees PTA membsership drive and maintains membership records.

Oversees PTA fundraising activities. Also responsible for Spirit Nights, Boosterthon, Spring Carnival fundrasing, and sponsorships.

Family Programs (4th VP) - Madison Henry

Maintains McGowen PTA website & online forms, social media communications, Board Calendar, Flyers and PTA newsletter.

Maintains PTA website, creates monthly emails, coordinates event communication, and manages social media pages.

Coordinates school-wide volunteer efforts, provides workroom training, and maintains Volunteer VIP program.

Organizes Trunk or Treat, Stadium Night, annual Variety Show and other community wide events.

Room Parent Coordinator - Kendall Durham

Secures Room Parents for each classroom, provides training meeting, works to ensure smooth communication between staff and room parents.

Coordinates and compiles the yearbook. Manages yearbook dedications, orders and promotion.

Healthy Lifestyles- Ellie Lovitz

Advocates for the incorporation of healthy lifestyle choices in McGowen’s student and family population. Leads Walk & Ride to school event, screen reduction efforts and the PTA’s Red Ribbon Week contributions.
